Professor Norman K. McLennan
Director - Commercial Advisory
Norman is an energy sector veteran who’s professional experience spans over 30 years split between the traditional construction, engineering, renewable energy, oil & gas and offshore power wind sectors. He has held senior management positions and worked for top FTSE, NYSE and JSE listed companies in the UK, Europe, America, Canada, Sub-Saharan, South Africa, China and the Middle East.
Norman has a proven track record of success on a wide variety of contractual / commercial arrangements and deal making in different industry sectors and he brings to bear the different perspectives of both client and contractor organisations looking up down and across the supply chain.
Norman has held and chaired numerous pan industry advisory board positions throughout his career and he has excellent high-quality exposure gained at senior leadership level to working practices in both operational and project type CAPEX & OPEX environments in the UKCS, Europe and internationally.
A Chartered Surveyor by profession, Norman holds Fellowship of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), The Chartered Institute of Civil Engineering Surveyors, The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS), the International Institute of Procurement & Supply (IIAPS), The Associations of Project Management (APM) and Cost Engineers (ACostE). He is also a member of the Institute of Directors (IOD), the Institute for Collaborative Working (ICW) and more recently he was admitted to membership of the prestigious Honourable Company of Master Mariners based in London in recognition of his work on complex international maritime projects.
Norman is also a Visiting Professor for the School of Architecture & Built Environment at the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen and he has a coaching mind-set and is passionate about the development and up- skilling of others. He is a member of the RICS Scotland Board and is advising on Energy & Sustainability matters for the benefit of the membership and public and is also member of the Cross-Party Scottish Parliament Renewable Energy Group at Hollyrood.
Minnie Lu
Director - Technical / HSE Advisory
Minnie is the Operation Director in a leading Tier 1 Engineering contractor. She is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Member of the Decommissioning Steering Committee for Offshore Energies UK and is Chair of DLG/Member Board of Directors for Decom North Sea.
Minnie has extensive technology, engineering and management experiences gained from working in major projects in the UK and overseas for over 24 years after graduated from the prestigious university in China Tsinghua University and a PhD degree from Bristol University.
Julia Swales
Director - Publishing
Julia Swales was formerly Head of Publishing at a leading international independent business publisher in London, commissioning supply chain books for academic and professional markets. Now Julia has brought this knowledge and experience to a variety of market intelligence, research and content development roles, as well as being a co-founder of Sea Pen Books.
Julia is Director of Community Content at boom! A Global Network for Women in Supply Chain; Senior Editor for Transport Intelligence (Ti), a leading provider of market research solutions to the global logistics industry and advisors to World Economic Forum, World Bank, UN and European Commission; Advisory Board Manager for the Foundation for Future Supply Chain, which is a new knowledge resource for governments, non-governmental organizations
and business. Julia is also Head of Global Markets for SeaFocus, an organisation which matches talented students with companies to work on a business case.
